Condemned

Statement summary

Karen Finney of the Black Women's Leadership Collective said Laura Loomer's attacks on Black women leaders follow a well-worn historical pattern, and that people who cannot condemn them should not say they support Black women.

“Laura Loomer’s racist, bigoted attacks on Black women leaders including Angie Nixon and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson follow a well-worn historical pattern of attempting to demean and belittle some of our democracy’s most steadfast leaders. If you can’t condemn this, then you shouldn’t say you support Black women.”

Why we used this label

The case's reference point is Laura Loomer's remarks about Angie Nixon and other Black women in politics. Finney calls Loomer's attacks racist and bigoted and says those who cannot condemn them should not claim to support Black women, so we labeled it Condemned.
