Editorial standards

We document disputes that can be anchored to identifiable public source material. Every dossier separates the material at issue, attributed claims, contextual evidence, the strongest sourced reading on each side, public reactions, and subsequent corrections or changes in position.

The index does not assign people an overall score, moral rating, or truth grade. Labels describe attributable statements or the role a record plays in a documented dispute; they are not judgments about a person’s character.

Methodology

Published records preserve quotations, context, sources and editorial rationales. Individual events are documented without creating a score or overall moral rating.

Source-first review

We begin with the fullest available primary material: a complete recording, transcript, original post, official document, interview, or statement. Secondary reporting can supply context and identify disputes, but it does not replace the underlying evidence when that evidence is available.

Claims, evidence, and interpretation

A claim appearing in a dossier is identified as a disputed proposition, not as a fact established by this archive. Quotations retain their speaker, date, capacity, locator, and surrounding context. Editorial summaries use neutral language and link back to their supporting sources.

Publication and updates

A case is published only after its required sources and relationships are published. Each dossier displays its original publication date and the date of its latest editorial update. Later statements are added as dated events so readers can distinguish new evidence from a change to earlier reporting.

Corrections and right to reply

Verified reporting or classification errors receive a visible correction. A subject’s later change in position is recorded separately and does not overwrite the historical record. The full process and published correction log are available on the Corrections page.
