Statement summary
National Women's Law Center president and CEO Fatima Goss Graves said Laura Loomer's statement fits her long history of using racist tropes and language, and called it a tired attempt to remain part of the story.
“Laura Loomer’s vitriolic statement is in line with her long history of using racist tropes and language and nothing more than a tired attempt to remain a part of the story. Successful Black women have dealt with Laura Loomers throughout our lives and we continue to rise.”

Why we used this label
The case's reference point is Laura Loomer's remarks about Angie Nixon and other Black women in politics. Goss Graves calls Loomer's statement vitriolic and in line with her long history of using racist tropes and language, so we labeled it Condemned.
Laura Loomer used “ghetto” and a gendered slur for Angie Nixon and four other Black women, then defended the wording as describing Nixon’s conduct, race, and ideology. Critics across parties called the remarks racist, sexist, degrading, offensive, or vile.
