Ceasefire interview on the Iran war
Joni ErnstU.S. Senator, Iowa
In an interview during the April ceasefire, Ernst said she supports President Trump and his efforts in Iran, called the ceasefire 'extremely important' and said 'we should never turn away from an opportunity to find peace,' while relaying regional leaders' advice to 'keep going' until Iran's proxy funding, missiles, and nuclear ambitions are dismantled.
“The leaders in that region, now that the war is underway, what they have told me directly is, keep going, do not stop until they have no further way of funding terrorist proxies, the ballistic missiles and nuclear ambitions.”

Christopher Lancia says he would not fund an expanded Iran conflict without clear intelligence and a defined mission
“As a member of Congress, I would not support additional funding for an expanded military conflict without clear intelligence, documented evidence of the threat, a defined mission, and a full understanding of what we’re asking our military to do. I would want to review that intelligence myself before making a decision that could put American lives at risk. I will always support doing whatever is necessary to defend the United States and protect the American people. But I will never support sending our sons and daughters into another unnecessary war simply because Washington decides that’s what we should do.”Read statement
