Why we used this label

Relative to Trump's description of the agreement as giving the United States permanent control in Greenland, Kaarsbo reads Trump's October 14 comments as a sign that his aim to control the island has not changed and calls it extremely dangerous to treat the agreement as having changed it. That is a critical assessment of the conduct under scrutiny. The closest competing label is challenges the characterization, because he disputes one reading of the agreement. That loses because he does not dispute the wording of Trump's description; he warns that the ambition behind it remains.
