Thank you for reaching out. My position is that Congress must take responsibility for decisions about war. I would demand a clear account of the mission, its legal basis, its costs, and the plan to bring our service members home. Yes, I would vote for a war powers resolution directing the removal of U.S. forces from hostilities against Iran unless Congress has authorized those hostilities. That vote would not prevent our forces from defending themselves or responding to an imminent attack. Iran's government poses serious threats, and we must protect Americans and our allies. But an open, ended war requires a debate and a vote by the representatives of the American people. I would press for diplomacy and a defined end to this conflict. Daniel Butierez
