Case
Hochul says James will provide an independent investigation of the alleged Cornell sexual assault. Ziegler objects to the appointment, and Ryan questions whether James's earlier public comments compromise her impartiality.
Role at the time: Independent journalist and author of Hazard Ratio
Response to this claim
Appointing Attorney General Letitia James will ensure an independent investigation of the Cornell allegations without conflict or bias.
“Is it possible for James to remain impartial having already declared the following?”
His argument substantively criticizes the choice of James on impartiality grounds. The question is a critical argument about the appointment, not a neutral request for information.
