In a statement given to news media on 19 September 2026, NATO spokesperson Allison Hart said NATO welcomes the announcement that the United States, Denmark and Greenland will soon sign an agreement, and that the agreement will help advance security, stability and cooperation in the Arctic and North Atlantic region. The quoted statement does not mention the agreement's terms.

Why we used this label

Hart welcomes the announced agreement and says it will help advance security, stability and cooperation in the region, which approves the deal itself; she neither repeats nor addresses Trump's description or any term of the agreement. The closest competing label is “Mixed or conditional”, because she welcomes an agreement that is announced but not yet signed or published. That loses because the statement attaches no condition, reservation or tension to the welcome.
