Before the quotation
Asked whether he would join a challenge if Alaska's governor moved to block certification of a Peltola win, Sullivan said many people were discussing legal theories and that he was focused on campaigning. Jake Tapper then asked whether he would accept the results only if he won.
After the quotation
Tapper ended the interview. Earlier in it, Sullivan said he would let lawyers decide whether a crime was committed and that he expected to lose a lot of votes to what he called trickery. The interview aired before Judge Sharon Gleason ruled.
How this statement is classified
The label describes this statement's response within the context above.
Why this label?
The case concerns DOJ's requested conditional restraint on certification of Alaska's Senate election. Sullivan says he will accept the results, which the suit sought to hold back if he lost, but he does not criticize the suit, declines to say whether he would join an effort to block certification and says the second candidacy will cost him votes.
