Why we used this label

Relative to Vance’s statement that supporters had been called racist for noticing the country becoming dirtier, Sharma says Vance is “right” and is “telling the truth about mass migration”. That defends the statement and ties it to immigration, so “Defended or excused” fits; he offers no qualification that would make another label closer.
