Role at the time: Governor of Illinois, posting on his verified personal Bluesky account
Statement summary
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker says Illinois took President Trump to court when he threatened mail-in voting and won. He also says the state added polling places statewide.
“That's why we added polling locations statewide, and when Donald Trump threatened mail-in voting, we took him to court—and won.”
The post also says 1.1 million Illinois residents had already voted early and links to a voter-information site. Illinois joined the multistate lawsuit against the Postal Service's ballot-mail rule on August 26.
Archived copy (opens in a new tab)Pritzker describes the administration's mail-voting restrictions as a threat that Illinois fought in court, which is a direct objection to applying them in this election.
Role at the time: Governor of Illinois (Democrat), speaking at a Texas Democratic Party news conference in Dallas
Response to this claim
Tarrant County commissioners' reduction of 2026 polling places was an attempt to rig the election.
“Republicans are also working to suppress the vote all across the country. In Tarrant County, the Republicans closed 92 in-person polling places last week, and Trump is attempting to have the Postal Service interfere with mail-in ballots across this state and every state. Republicans know that they can't win on the merits of their unpopular policies, so they're working to rig the 2026 election.”
Recording of a September 9, 2026 news conference in Dallas held by Texas Democratic Party Chair Kendall Scudder and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, timed to the Republican National Committee's midterm convention there. Pritzker's opening remarks cite the Tarrant County polling-site reduction.
Pritzker names the Tarrant closures as part of an effort to rig the 2026 election, which condemns the decision and asserts the contested motive; his remarks about other states fall outside this case.

Pritzker endorsed expansion of the license plate reader network on Chicago-area expressways to help investigate shootings.
“My administration is bringing over 150 automated license plate readers to Chicagoland expressways ahead of the summer”
The Illinois State Police announced installation of additional expressway readers.
Archived copy (opens in a new tab)Relative to networked ALPR surveillance, Pritzker explicitly endorses expanding the network. His position is established by his own quotation.

Role at the time: Governor of Illinois (D), interviewed on ABC's This Week
Statement summary
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, asked on ABC's This Week whether Democrats should denounce Hasan Piker and reject his support, said he is not focused on streamers and that Democrats should be focused on stopping Donald Trump. Asked whether he would accept Piker's support, he said he does not want to talk about it and that Piker "doesn't mean anything to me or in my election."
“You know, I'm not focused on the streamers and what they're saying. There's a whole lot of them, and they got a whole lot of views. I'm just saying that what I think we should be talking about and focused on is how do we stop Donald Trump in his tracks? How do we make sure that we're putting forward an agenda that really fights for the people who need it, which are the most vulnerable? The workers, you know, the middle class who really need someone to stand up for them. That's why I'm a Democrat. That's why the Democratic Party exists. That's what we should be focused on. You know, again, I'm not focused. I don't even want to talk about it. Hasan Piker doesn't mean anything to me or in my election.”
ABC News' rush transcript of This Week for September 20, 2026, which ABC says may not be in final form. Jonathan Karl asks Pritzker whether it is time for Democrats to denounce Hasan Piker and whether he would accept Piker's support.
Archived copy (opens in a new tab)The question put to Pritzker was whether it is time for Democrats to denounce Piker and say they do not want his support, after the host described Piker's claims about al-Qaeda and Iran. Pritzker did not answer it. He said he is not focused on streamers, turned to stopping Donald Trump, and said of Piker's support that he does not "even want to talk about it." The closest competing label is Minimized, because he says Piker "doesn't mean anything" to him, but he never addresses the seriousness of the claims, so we labeled it Explicitly stayed out.
