Responding on X the same day to the teaser clip Axios published from his interview, Hasan Piker accused the outlet of "farming the interview" and turning what he called a nuanced answer about acts of terror into clickbait. He did not withdraw the comparison: he restated the substance by citing United States arming of al-Qaeda since the September 11 attacks and saying a former al-Qaeda commander became president of Syria.
