Elissa SlotkinU.S. senator from Michigan (Democrat), on her X account

Condemned

Slotkin writes that Trump had Stephen Miller draft a post threatening to put her in jail, and tells Trump that his threats of legal action did not work when his administration sought to indict her before a grand jury in February or when he threatened it again last month.

Responding to

Trump says Democrats who threaten the attorney general and other officials with impeachment, and Republican donors with imprisonment, are committing extortion and a criminal act that he is ordering the Justice Department to look into.

“Mr. President, your threats of legal action and worse didn't work when you tried to criminally indict me in front of a grand jury last February. Or when you threatened it again last month. If anything, your hair-trigger obsession on the issue of corruption and illegal orders reveals more about you then it does about me.”
