No Kings Coalition letter says Meta's public comments do not explain the suspension
No Kings CoalitionOrganizer of the No Kings protests and operator of the suspended account
In an open letter to Mark Zuckerberg, the No Kings Coalition says Meta's public comments do not explain the suspension or the delay in restoring administrator access, and asks the company to answer its questions publicly by October 21.
Responding to
Meta's automated protections incorrectly took the No Kings Instagram account offline after its network security systems detected a Claude tool reading profiles, posts and hashtags in high-volume bursts that resembled bot traffic.
“Public comments from representatives of Meta do not sufficiently explain these actions or the significant delay in remedying the so-called “technical glitch.” This raises serious questions among the public about why these actions were taken and the implications during the election season.”

Where this statement fits
Meta suspends No Kings Instagram account during protest day, then calls it an automated error
Meta suspended the No Kings Coalition's Instagram account during the coalition's October 17, 2026 day of early-voting events. Meta spokesperson Andy Stone called it an automated error and later attributed it to a Claude tool's reading activity. Organizers, Democratic senators and Common Cause question the explanation or call the suspension censorship.

How this statement is classified
The label describes this statement's response within the context above.
Why this label?
The reference point is Meta's October 17, 2026 suspension of the No Kings Coalition Instagram account during the coalition's day of action. The letter says Meta's public explanations do not account for the suspension or for the delay in restoring access, which challenges the company's description of the suspension as an automated error.
