Power Rising co-conveners say the attacks on Black women leaders are an attempt at intimidation
Power RisingCo-conveners of Power Rising, Bishop Leah Daughtry and Minyon Moore, in a statement of support released by Higher Heights for America
Power Rising co-conveners Bishop Leah Daughtry and Minyon Moore said the attacks were an attempt to intimidate Black women out of the rooms where power is exercised, not political disagreement, and that the group stands against anyone who traffics in racism and misogyny.
“This is not political disagreement — it is an attempt to intimidate Black women out of the rooms where power is exercised. Power Rising stands in solidarity with every Black woman named and every one who wasn’t — and against anyone who traffics in racism and misogyny to silence Black women’s leadership.”
Official statement

Where this statement fits
Laura Loomer’s remarks about Angie Nixon and other Black women in politics
Laura Loomer described Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon and four other prominent Black women using the word “ghetto” and a gendered slur, said the stereotype exists, and later defended the wording as an accurate description of Nixon’s conduct, race, and ideology. Nixon and political figures and commentators across party lines called the remarks racist, sexist, degrading, offensive, or vile. The dispute concerns whether Loomer’s stated political criticism can be separated from the racial and gender stereotypes used in the original and follow-up statements.
