Planned Parenthood Action Fund's Alexis McGill Johnson says Loomer's attacks must be condemned
Alexis McGill JohnsonPresident and CEO of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, in a joint statement of women-led organizations published by Higher Heights for America
Planned Parenthood Action Fund president and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson said Laura Loomer's attacks on Black women leaders were the same strategy generations of racists have used to dehumanize Black women, and called it despicable and said it must be condemned in no uncertain terms.
“Power doesn’t stumble into racism by accident. When President Trump’s right hand adviser Laura Loomer attacked Congresswomen Pressley, Omar, and Bush, Florida State Representative Angie Nixon, and Justice Jackson, it wasn’t a blip — it was the same tired strategy generations of racists have used to dehumanize Black women. It’s despicable and must be condemned in no uncertain terms.”
Official statement

Where this statement fits
Laura Loomer’s remarks about Angie Nixon and other Black women in politics
Laura Loomer described Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon and four other prominent Black women using the word “ghetto” and a gendered slur, said the stereotype exists, and later defended the wording as an accurate description of Nixon’s conduct, race, and ideology. Nixon and political figures and commentators across party lines called the remarks racist, sexist, degrading, offensive, or vile. The dispute concerns whether Loomer’s stated political criticism can be separated from the racial and gender stereotypes used in the original and follow-up statements.
