Jesse Watters says he is not fazed by Ossoff's remark about Natalie Harp

Jesse WattersFox News host and co-host of The Five, speaking on the program

Fox News host Jesse Watters said on The Five that he was not fazed by Ossoff's comment, that he did not think Trump was very upset about it, and that Trump has said much more sleazy things about other people.

“To suggest that Trump surrounds himself with attractive women, yeah, I think he’s done that his whole life I don’t think he’s very upset about the comment. Am I fazed by this comment? No Has Trump said so much worse? So much more sleazy things against other people? Yes. Have I defended those things? Absolutely. So I’m not going to pretend I’m all hot and bothered about it, and the president doesn’t care.”

Where this statement fits

Jon Ossoff’s travel with Natalie remark about Donald Trump and Natalie Harp

At an Atlanta reelection rally, Senator Jon Ossoff said President Donald Trump did not want to do the work of the presidency and instead wanted to build a ballroom and “travel with Natalie” on a Qatari aircraft. Trump allies accused Ossoff of misogyny and of implying an affair with White House aide Natalie Harp. Ossoff did not apologize and said senior White House aides are powerful taxpayer-paid public officials whose influence is fair to scrutinize.

How this statement is classified

Minimized

The label describes this statement's response within the context above.

Why this label?

The case looks at Ossoff's "travel with Natalie" remark and the claim that it was a sexist insinuation. Watters addresses the remark directly but says he is not fazed by it, will not pretend to be bothered, and notes that Trump has said worse things about others. That downplays its significance, so we labeled it Minimized.
