Panetta's quoted statement says the Pentagon’s “recategorization” of Iran War casualties raises serious concerns about transparency and calls for a complete and accurate accounting of the war's human cost. The release concerns the July recategorization of four deaths and more than 200 wounded and does not mention the Post report; the Ryan quote inside it still refers to 18 killed. Its wording differs from the posts, so the posts were used for the quotation.
