Statement summary
Fox News host Jessica Tarlov wrote that calling the Black leader of House Democrats an "AIPAC monkey" "can't be not racist" and that it was not said in support of Palestinian sovereignty.
“Pretty sure calling the black leader of the Democrats an ‘AIPAC monkey’ can’t be not racist.”
Jessica Tarlov's own post on X, quoting a post that shared the video of Rula Jebreal's remarks about Hakeem Jeffries.
Why we used this label
The reference point is whether Jebreal's remarks about Jeffries were racist. Tarlov answers that question directly: the phrase cannot be anything but racist. That is an express rejection of the remarks, so we labeled it Condemned. Challenged the characterization loses because she does not dispute how the remarks were described; she agrees they are racist. Evidence level: the speaker's own post on X.
