Response to this claim

Kyle Seraphin said on his podcast on August 22, 2025 that FBI Director Kash Patel "has had his own little 'honeypot' issue" and that Patel's girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, is "a former Mossad agent in what is like the equivalent of their NSA," according to the transcript quoted in Wilkins's complaint and in the court's order denying his motion to dismiss.

“I'm glad Elijah cleared that up Alexis Wikins is not an Israeli honeypot and the FBI is not funding her lawsuit”

Shields's quote post of Elijah Schaffer's September 9, 2026 retraction and apology to Wilkins.

Why we used this label

The reference point is the proposition that Alexis Wilkins is, or was, a foreign intelligence agent, specifically an Israeli or Mossad "honeypot" in a relationship with Kash Patel to compromise him. Read literally, Shields repeats Schaffer's statement that Wilkins is not an Israeli honeypot, which would be a denial. Read with his November 2025 question and his pairing of the retraction with the FBI-funding point, it can be read as sarcasm. Because its meaning depends on which reading applies, we used Mixed or conditional. The closest competing label is Denied. It loses because we cannot establish that he means the statement literally. Condemned does not fit because he asserts nothing against Wilkins. Evidence level: his own post on X.

Why we used this label

The reference point is the proposition that Alexis Wilkins is, or was, a foreign intelligence agent, specifically an Israeli or Mossad "honeypot" in a relationship with Kash Patel to compromise him. Shields poses the proposition as a question and offers no answer or evidence, so we used Mixed or conditional, the label this case uses for insinuation through questions. The closest competing label is Condemned. It loses because a question does not assert the proposition. Evidence level: his own post on X.
