Role at the time: Prime Minister of Israel, in a video message posted ahead of his UN visit
Statement summary
Ahead of his UN General Assembly address, Netanyahu said he would tell the truth about Mamdani and accused him of supporting Hamas and inciting riots against Jewish New Yorkers.
“Shame on you, Mr. Mamdani. Shame on you for supporting the Hamas terrorist monsters who butchered our people. Shame on you for inciting riots against New York Jews. I'm coming to the UN. I'm going to tell the truth about our heroic soldiers, and I'm going to tell the truth about you.”
CBS News reports Netanyahu accused Mamdani of supporting Hamas and inciting unrest against Jewish New Yorkers ahead of his UN visit, and that Mamdani had previously called for U.S. authorities to enforce the ICC's arrest warrant against Netanyahu.
Netanyahu directly condemns Mamdani's conduct as incitement against Jewish New Yorkers, not merely disputing a specific fact about the ICC warrant.
