NYC-DSA said Jessica Tisch must be fired if she cannot stop what it describes as NYPD complicity with ICE. Congressional candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier separately called for the police commissioner to step down after the October 8 confrontation in Marble Hill. City Hall spokesperson Dora Pekec said there were no plans to replace Tisch. The dispute is whether Mayor Zohran Mamdani should continue to retain Tisch after critics challenged her public explanation of the shooting and the NYPD's response to protesters.
