Care in Action's Jenn Stowe says the attacks on Black women leaders are attempts to silence them
Jenn StoweExecutive Director of Care in Action, in a joint release published by Higher Heights for America
Care in Action executive director Jenn Stowe said racist and misogynistic attacks on Black women leaders are attempts to silence them and erase their influence, and that Care in Action stands with the women targeted.
“Racist and misogynistic attacks on Black women leaders are attempts to silence us and erase our influence. Care in Action remains committed to Black women’s leadership, dignity, and safety. We stand with Cori Bush, Ketanji Brown Jackson, Angie Nixon, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Black women everywhere who are subjected to vicious campaigns and efforts to intimidate us.”
Official statement

Where this statement fits
Laura Loomer’s remarks about Angie Nixon and other Black women in politics
Laura Loomer described Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon and four other prominent Black women using the word “ghetto” and a gendered slur, said the stereotype exists, and later defended the wording as an accurate description of Nixon’s conduct, race, and ideology. Nixon and political figures and commentators across party lines called the remarks racist, sexist, degrading, offensive, or vile. The dispute concerns whether Loomer’s stated political criticism can be separated from the racial and gender stereotypes used in the original and follow-up statements.
