Magaziner calls the August 2025 Revolution Wind halt reckless
Seth MagazinerU.S. Representative from Rhode Island and member of the House Natural Resources Committee
Magaziner said the Trump administration was putting America last by stalling Revolution Wind, and that Rhode Islanders paying higher electric bills and trades workers put out of work were the losers of what he called a reckless action.
“The Trump Administration is putting America last by stalling a project that will produce low-cost American-made energy The biggest winners from this move are countries like Saudi Arabia, from whom we will have to buy more oil, and the losers are Rhode Islanders, who are paying more on their electric bills, and trades workers who have been put in the unemployment line as a result of this reckless action”
Official statement

Where this statement fits
Was the federal government justified in halting Revolution Wind construction?
Federal officials halted construction of Revolution Wind off Rhode Island in August and December 2025, citing national-security concerns. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum defended the December pause, while Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse criticized the interruptions. A federal judge granted preliminary injunctions against both orders. In September 2026, Connecticut announced installation of the project's final turbine.

After the quotation
The release says the leaders at the Quonset event vowed to keep pressing for a reversal of the order so the project could be finished in 2026 as planned.
How this statement is classified
The label describes this statement's response within the context above.
Why this label?
The case asks whether the federal halts of Revolution Wind construction were justified. Magaziner says the stop-work order puts America last and calls it a reckless action that leaves Rhode Island ratepayers and trades workers worse off. That rejects the halt itself rather than only disputing how it is described, so we used the Condemned label.
