Hunter Biden launched the $LAPTOP memecoin, using the name of the laptop controversy that has defined his public profile. Critics including Coffeezilla and cryptocurrency commentators called the project a “shitcoin” or scam and warned against buying it; Channel 5 disavowed promoting crypto after controversy over an audience-list file. Biden framed the token as an act of resilience, redemption, and recovery and contrasted it with Donald Trump’s token.
Laura Loomer described Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon and four other prominent Black women using the word “ghetto” and a gendered slur, said the stereotype exists, and later defended the wording as an accurate description of Nixon’s conduct, race, and ideology. Nixon and political figures and commentators across party lines called the remarks racist, sexist, degrading, offensive, or vile. The dispute concerns whether Loomer’s stated political criticism can be separated from the racial and gender stereotypes used in the original and follow-up statements.
Mark Ruffalo connected Oracle’s assistance to the Israeli military and Larry Ellison’s financing of Paramount’s proposed Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition to concerns about Gaza, surveillance, media concentration, and oligarchic power. Paramount and several Jewish organizations said his framing echoed conspiracies about Jewish wealth and media control. Ruffalo and his defenders argued that he criticized identified executives, military contracts, and a documented corporate transaction—not Jews as a group.
