Why we used this label
Relative to whether Canada should become an associate member of the European Union, Poilievre neither endorses the proposition nor rejects it outright. His stated conclusion depends on an express unresolved condition, namely what the arrangement turns out to contain, which is the definition of a conditional position. He is plainly hostile in tone and flatly critical of the process, but the criticism of secrecy targets how the proposal has been handled rather than the proposal itself.
