“Epic, by far one of the best technical leaders in games, is saying no hand written code. If you're not doing the same you will be left behind. It is over for non-AI workflows.”
Post by Genvid chief executive Jacob Navok on October 12, 2026, after Bloomberg's report on Epic's AI-first instructions.
Why we used this label
The reference point is Epic Games' move to make AI central to its game development, as Tim Sweeney described it on October 12, 2026 and as Bloomberg reported for an unannounced Disney shooter to be made as an AI-first production. Navok treats Epic's reported move away from hand-written code as a model for the industry and says "It is over for non-AI workflows", an endorsement of the shift, so we labeled it Defended or excused. The closest competing label is Mixed or conditional; it loses because he states no reservation.
