Greg Pak
Role at the time: Comic book writer and filmmaker, posting on his own Bluesky account
Statement summary
Comic book writer and filmmaker Greg Pak posted on Bluesky that he did not like Hinojosa's "Pronouns" advertisement, while saying he approves of her voting record in Texas on transgender rights and contrasting her favourably with other politicians he described as waffling on those positions.
“Didn't like Hinojosa's recent "Pronouns" ad. I *DO* like her actual voting record in Texas for trans rights, and I'm glad that unlike some other politicians, she's not waffling on those stances.”
The speaker's own post on Bluesky, cited from the post itself rather than from a screenshot or repost. Pak worked on Ann Richards's 1990 campaign for governor of Texas, which he mentions in a separate post the same evening.
Archived copy (opens in a new tab)Why we used this label
Pak rejects the advertisement while separately endorsing the record it sits alongside, holding both positions at once without resolving them. The closest competing label is condemns, since his only statement about the advertisement itself is that he disliked it. That loses because the sentence is built as a contrast: the objection to the advertisement is immediately qualified by approval of her substantive record, which is the structure the mixed label exists to capture.
