Statement summary

Heritage Foundation legal fellow Cully Stimson wrote that Judge Diamond's findings showed Krasner wanted the DAO to submit a false narrative to the court, and that, given Krasner's track record and those findings, the U.S. attorney's decision whether to investigate "should be an easy call."

“It will now be up to the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania to decide whether to conduct an investigation. Given Krasner’s track record and the judge’s findings of fact and conclusions of law, it should be an easy call.”

Why we used this label

Stimson recounts Diamond's findings that Krasner wanted a false narrative presented, adopts them, and argues that they and Krasner's record make an investigation an easy decision. The closest competing label is “Challenged the characterization”, because much of the column restates the opinion. That loses because he adds his own evaluation that the U.S. attorney should investigate and that the decision is easy.
