Ann Korchak
Role at the time: Board president of Small Property Owners of New York
Statement summary
Ann Korchak, board president of Small Property Owners of New York, told Fox News Digital that saying it is racist to own property is an insult to every immigrant who came to the United States.
“To say that it's racist to own property is an insult to every single immigrant who ever came here”
Fox News Digital report quoting New York City small property owners on Cea Weaver's past remarks linking homeownership to white supremacy.
Why we used this label
The case concerns Cea Weaver's remarks tying homeownership and private property to white supremacy. Korchak said it is an insult to every immigrant who came to the United States to say that owning property is racist, and elsewhere in the article she called Weaver's language insulting. That expressly criticizes the remarks, so we labeled it Condemned.
