Naindeep Singh
Role at the time: Central Unified School District trustee and candidate for Fresno City Council, District 1
Statement summary
Fresno council candidate Naindeep Singh said he is open to the evidence but that Flock has a track record of resisting oversight, and that renewing its contract without ironclad protections would be negligent.
“I’m open to the evidence. But Flock as a company has a track record of resisting oversight and sharing data beyond what cities authorized. Renewal without ironclad protections isn’t cautious, it’s negligent.”
The Fresno Bee asked both Fresno City Council District 1 candidates whether the city should renew its Flock camera contract, which expires in 2026.
Why we used this label
The reference point is whether networked license-plate reader systems such as Flock should exist and be used. Singh said he is open to the evidence but that renewing the Flock contract without strong protections would be negligent. He conditions renewal on protections and answers rather than calling for the cameras to be removed.
